Why is this so hard?
As someone who is fairly typical of users these days — sometimes at home, sometimes at work, sometimes using transit, or just bored somewhere waiting for something / someone — I like to check up on Twitter when time permits. Since there is almost always either a Mac or an iDevice nearby (washroom trips anyone?) getting access to it should be no problem.
